A new Universal Studios Hollywood event may fulfill a dream you never knew you had—running alongside Minions around a theme park. On May 11, 2019, the inaugural Minions 5K will take place at 6 a.m. before the park is open to visitors.
Catering to all levels of runners, the 3.1-mile race will go behind the scenes and through the Universal Backlot before finishing at Universal CityWalk. In addition to photo ops with your favorite Despicable Me characters, three packages give participants a variety of race perks.
A 5K Fan Package ($45) scores you a Minion cap, backpack, and access to a special zone at the Finish Line; standard entry ($75) gets you a collectible medal, t-shirt, and pin, along with a discounted rate for Early Park Admission, and the VIP registration ($135) includes complimentary valet, a post-race breakfast, and a one-on-one Minions meet and greet.
