San Luis Obispo Will Pay You $100 to Visit

Take a winter trip to this charming Central Coast city and earn some extra spending money

Need a winter travel incentive? Here it is: San Luis Obispo will give you $100 cash just for visiting.

The first 500 travelers to commit to a two-night stay in a local hotel before March 31 will reap the rewards. The rules are fairly simple—just book your stay at one of these San Luis Obispo hotels, send your reservation email to info@sanluisobispovacations.com, and bring your reservation, confirmation letter, and room key to the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center to receive your $100. Note that Feb. 16 and 17 are blackout dates, and that you must both book the trip and visit by March 31.

Once you arrive in SLO, start with a few free must-do activities. Snap a pic in front of the sticky Bubblegum Alley, wander the gardens or listen for the ringing bells (done by an actual person) at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, and stroll the famous Thursday night farmers’ market.
