Opening Night: Icons + Legends
Things kicks off in grand fashion with Opening Night: Icons + Legends, an evening that brings together some of the region’s most acclaimed chefs, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and spirit producers. Guests can sample signature dishes and small bites while enjoying unlimited tastings of wine, craft beer, and cocktails from California and beyond.
Live music, culinary demonstrations, and opportunities to meet celebrated chefs are a big part of the draw as well. Designed as a showcase of the festival’s biggest culinary stars and emerging talent, the event offers a chance to experience a wide range of flavors in a single evening while mingling with fellow food and wine enthusiasts.

Grand Tasting
The Grand Tasting is the centerpiece of the San Diego Food + Wine Festival, bringing together dozens of top chefs, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and craft spirit producers for an afternoon of unlimited sampling. Attendees can wander from booth to booth tasting gourmet bites, regional specialties, award-winning wines, local beers, and handcrafted cocktails while enjoying live entertainment and culinary demonstrations. Held along San Diego’s scenic waterfront, the Grand Tasting combines exceptional food and drink with bay views and plenty of festive energy.

Grand Fiesta
Grand Fiesta celebrates the culinary traditions of Latin America, Spain, and Mexico through an evening of food, wine, spirits, and live entertainment. Festival guests can sample dishes from acclaimed chefs and restaurants while enjoying tastings of tequila, mezcal, wine, beer, and craft cocktails inspired by Latin flavors.

Chef of the Fest Competition
Chefs square off in the Chef of the Fest Competition (previous winners have pulled out all the stops with the likes of duck fat-fried beignets) for cash prizes and bragging rights; winners are determined by blind tasting tests.
Other events include hands-on classes and educational seminars led by culinary experts, dining experiences at some of San Diego's top restaurants, and a lineup of after-hours parties and celebrations featuring food, drinks, and live entertainment.
