Now through April 21, 2019, the Greater Palm Springs area plays host to a collection of free, outdoor art installations called Desert X. There are 19 artists who took part in the second iteration of this exhibit, which first appeared in 2017 and drew more than 200,000 visitors to the area. The colorful artwork is spread throughout the Coachella Valley, spanning from Desert Hot Springs to Palm Springs to the Salton Sea (road trip, anyone?).
To get started, visit the Desert X website or, in person, head to one of the Desert X hubs—in Palm Springs (Ace Hotel & Swim Club, room 119), Palm Desert (73660 El Paseo), and Indio (82713 Miles Ave.) to pick up a handheld map.
