Governor-elect Gavin Newsom, working with the California Fire Foundation, will host a benefit concert at 6 p.m. Sunday night at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. Common, Betty Who, Pitbull, Cold Weather Sons, X Ambassadors, and DJ Gusto will all perform, with proceeds benefitting those affected by the Camp Fire in Butte County and the Woolsey Fire in Thousand Oaks.
Tickets for the event, called California Rises, cost $25 and are still available.
"Catastrophic wildfires—the deadliest and most destructive in state history—have devastated the lives, homes and dreams of thousands of our fellow Californians," according to the California Fire Foundation. "Our firefighters and first responders have been on the front lines around the clock to contain the fires and save lives. They represent the best of our state and its people.
"Californians are strong," the organization added. "We show up for each other. California Rises celebrates the spirit and resilience of our state with those who have stood up to this test: our firefighters, first responders, and those who have lost so much."
