With a pine-and-peak alpine setting and a relaxed and friendly ambience, this lively summer music event in Bear Valley, roughly halfway between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, includes performances by outstanding musical artists.
What to Expect at the Bear Valley Music Festival
Launched in 1967, the Bear Valley Music Festival features a full symphony orchestra, international soloists, and legendary entertainers at wooded outdoor venues. Classical works, opera, Broadway show tunes, and opening weekend acts of contemporary and country music are offered, with past guest artists ranging from The Mamas and the Papas to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and The Temptations. The festival's diverse musical lineup and rugged mountain setting draws roughly 4,000 attendees each year.
The Setting at the Bear Mountain Music Festival
The performances are set in a spacious tent, which serves as a concert hall equipped with a stage large enough to hold a symphony orchestra. Sip & Sonatas concerts are also held in partnership with local wineries, which combine wine tastings with the sounds of chamber music.
Next to the main performance tent, guests will find smaller pop-ups serving local wines from award-winning wineries, beer, beverages, and snacks. For more dining options, head into town for a bite to eat at one of Bear Valley's mom-and-pop owned restaurants and bars.
