Sophie Morgan concludes her epic California sojourn with a relaxing road trip through the Central Coast. Her friend and fellow UK expat Emily Evans joins her for the third and final episode of the Visit California “Joy Diversion” webseries. The new episode highlights the best ways to relax and unwind while exploring a midcentury motel in Los Alamos, wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley, and checking into a jaw-dropping beachfront hotel in Santa Barbara.
“This is the quintessential California,” Morgan exclaims in the video. She notes that this road trip was also the perfect way to wrap up her journey along the Pacific Coast Highway.
The first stop for the duo was the Skyview Motel in Los Alamos and its restaurant, Norman. They then enjoyed a wine tasting at the gorgeous Roblar Winery in Santa Ynez. “It’s a really special place,” Morgan says of Roblar. “Not only is it beautiful…, but a lot of the people who work here also produce the wine as well. So it's an intimate feel.”
Their final destination was the Rosewood at Miramar Beach. This expansive property on the shoreline of Montecito offers guests rides in an adorable vintage golf cart to the beach, where Morgan tried out Freedom Trax, a revolutionary piece of equipment that allows users mobility on the sand. The host describes this emotional experience as a “life-changing moment, as it’s my first time on the beach since moving to California.”
