Plan Your Dream California Vacation on Pinterest

It’s the perfect tool for organizing your itinerary now—so you can travel with confidence when the time is right

Think of Pinterest as the digital version of your own personal vacation vision board, a place to organize your thoughts and make planning easier. You can use it to map out your entire trip, all the way from the early dreaming stage to highly focused day-by-day itinerary planning.

“With 46 million people using Pinterest to make travel decisions every month, it is one of the top spots for travel inspiration and trip planning because it gives people the ability to envision every facet of their experiences,” says Ashish Arya, Global Head of Strategy & Marketing, Travel at Pinterest. “Although traveling is temporarily on pause, people on Pinterest are already looking to the future and visualizing how they can make their dream vacation a reality again.”

Start by checking out the California From Home board, perfect for getting in the travel mood while destinations and attractions are working to reopen. Pick out your favorite California Zoom background, experience awesome ways to virtually visit Disneyland, or order a dish from a top California restaurant to be sent straight to your home.

Follow the California Bucket List board to discover must-see destinations and unique experiences across the Golden State, from top yoga retreats and amazing spa resorts to authentic ranching experiences and fun bus adventures.

Eager to hit the road when restrictions ease? Plot out your dream drive using the California Road Trips board. The collection features road trips by theme (such as craft beer and theme parks) and location (Route 66, Pacific Coast Highway South). There are even two different itinerary suggestions for driving the iconic Highway 1 (Highway 1 Classic and Majestic, Magical Highway 1).

If you’re new to Pinterest, here are a few ways to use the tool to plan your next California vacation:

1. Create specific boards for travel experiences or destinations you’re interested in, such as “San Francisco” or “California Restaurants to Try” or “Road Trips.”

2. Follow Visit California’s channel so you always see the latest pins. We’ll continue to add to existing boards and build new ones to spark fresh trip ideas.

3. Install the “Pin it” button on your browser, then explore articles on visitcalifornia.com and California Now. Then simply click the “P” button to save any articles you like to your own boards.

Happy pinning!
