In San Diego, summer doesn’t really end with Labor Day. Early fall brings lots of warm, sunny beach days, as well as KAABOO Del Mar (September 13–15), the three-day music, food, and comedy festival based at the county fairgrounds in the coastal town of Del Mar. This year’s lineup has been announced, with Kings of Leon, Dave Matthews Band, and Mumford & Sons headlining the three nights.
Since it first launched in 2015, KAABOO Del Mar has prided itself on being a laid-back and foodie-friendly music fest, with plenty of couches scattered around the culinary and art areas and a tent that offers spa treatments—massages, hair styling, and hot shaves.
The rest of the lineup shows the festival’s knack for spanning different genres and decades—ranging from Snoop Dogg with Wu-Tang Clan, One Republic, and Black Eyed Peas to Duran Duran, The Bangles, The Cult, and Boyz II Men.
The comedy lineup, meanwhile, includes Bert Kreischer, Wayne Brady, Tig Notaro, and Bob Saget. The culinary lineup has yet to be announced, but expect a good mix of local chefs, craft beer, and wine tastings.
Regular and VIP-level three-day passes are already on sale for the event; one-day passes typically go on sale during the summer.
