Coronavirus in California - Travel Information

California is open to welcome visitors. Some large indoor events may require proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative test result, and it is best to check with event operators for the latest guidance. The Centers for Disease Control recommends face coverings indoors in counties with high transmission rates. Check the California Department of Public Health website for county-specific information.

For more guidance, here is a collection of California’s local and regional tourism offices.

Firefighters are responding to a number of wildfires in California.

The Mosquito Fire has led to the closure of a large portion of the Tahoe National Forest including French Meadows Reservoir and the Western States Trail, which will be closed through the end of 2022.

A fire in Southern California’s Riverside County has also caused evacuations in the region.

Visitors to affected areas may experience road closures, traffic delays and poor air quality.

The vast majority of the Golden State is unaffected by fires.

For the latest information on wildfires in the state, visit the CalFire website

Air quality information, as well as livecams across the state, can be found at WestCoastTravelFacts.org.
