Thanksgiving is usually a time to celebrate, a chance to reconnect with friends and family, and an opportunity for all of us to count our blessings. Due to California’s wildfires, however, many holiday gatherings will take on a somber note this year. The loss of life and property in some communities has been considerable, and our hearts go out to those who are suffering.

Despite so much bad news, goodness persists: The outpouring of love in response to these fires is a source of inspiration and a testament that we are all part of one global community. Our first responders, as always, are leading the charge, going far beyond the call of duty to protect people and property. We are in awe of their commitment and are forever indebted to them.

Thankfully, firefighters are gaining an upper hand on containment of the fires. Additionally, weather patterns are forecast to improve air quality dramatically in the coming days. We recommend that you review the latest fire information via our Travel Alerts page. We also recommend that visitors planning trips to affected areas consult their tour operator or hotel directly for the latest information.

So many of you have reached out and asked how you can help, and we cannot thank you enough for this outreach. Please click here to make a donation to those already on the ground making a difference. When doing so, please select “California Wildfires” from the drop down menu. Together, we can help bolster the brave men and women fighting these fires and do our part to help these communities rebuild.

    Thank you so much. #CALove
