Screen Actors Guild Awards

This swanky but intimate awards show feels a bit like the coolest party in town—and for one night in winter, it is. Focusing on the acting part of television and films, these awards, presented by a key actors’ union, adds a nice twist by honouring not only individual performances and performers, but also awarding entire casts and ensembles for collaborative work in TV and films. Held in downtown LA at the iconic Shrine Auditorium, it’s an exclusive affair, but get there early enough to grab a spot along approach routes to the site. If you’re lucky you might see the stars, dressed to the nines, as they head for the event.
