Placer Citrus Restaurant Week

For more than 125 years, the foothills of Placer County turn orange come late autumn as hundreds of Satsuma Mountain mandarin trees bear their fruit. From Jan. 3 to 12, this Gold Country county will celebrate its second annual Placer Citrus Restaurant Week, which also salutes the local Meyer lemons, blood oranges, and grapefruit. Local restaurants will put their twists on the citrus fruits, creating dishes that highlight their unique flavor profiles—from salads and sauces to unique desserts. Fun fact: The Satsuma Mountain mandarin provides natural decongestion relief for cold and allergy symptoms.
