The two key events of the Tournament of Roses are the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl college football championship game. The world-famous parade marks its 120th year with the theme "Hats Off to Entertainment." Hallmarks include elaborate floats covered in a variety of flowers, seeds, bark, leaves and other natural materials. Energetic marching bands and high-stepping equestrian units round out the entertainment along the 5.5-mile route. Visitors can see the floats being decorated at various locations several days before the parade, and for two days following the event; they can see the finished creations at the Showcase of Floats.

The Rose Parade will be broadcast on ABC, NBC, Univision, HGTV, Travel Channel, Discovery HD as well as KWHY and KTLA in the Los Angeles area. The Parade is also seen in more than 150 international territories.
