AUGUST

Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival

Showcasing the city’s prowess as a seriously great food destination, the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival is an epicurean spectacular showcasing leading chefs, top wineries, and culinary icons for five days of delectable food and drink. And with all that comes the kind of glitz that will make you think you are at the Oscars—buzzing fans of food and celebrity chefs, DJs, bustling photographers, and everyone dressed to the nines with the L.A. skyline as a backdrop. It all makes the festival a truly one-of-a-kind, very L.A. experience.

The number one rule of LAFW? Come with a raging appetite. Price of entry includes unlimited samples of food, wine, custom cocktails, and beer, so there’s no need to limit your experience. And the amuse-bouche-size portions make it possible to cover a lot of culinary ground as you wander amidst the freshly prepared offerings. Savour dishes from the city’s top restaurants at special tastings. Watch cooking demonstrations by the likes of Iron Chef’s Masaharu Morimoto and Richard Blais of Top Chef All-Stars, or have a chat with L.A. by way of Australia chef Curtis Stone of Maude Restaurant and Gwen

There are also exclusive lunches prepared by such legendary Southern California restaurant figures as Nancy Silverton (winner of the James Beard Foundation’s 2014 award for the country’s outstanding chef), and sessions devoted to beer and wine pairings. Events take place in downtown L.A., Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, Chinatown, and Santa Monica; check schedule for specific times and locations.
