The Americans with Disabilities Act provides that all public buildings be wheelchair accessible and have accessible rest rooms. Most hotels and attractions are now outfitted with wide doorways and wheelchair ramps. Most city sidewalk corners have dropped curbs, and some public transit vehicles are equipped with lifts. Whenever possible, call destinations in advance to inquire about access.
The Golden Access Passport is a free lifetime entrance pass for U.S. citizens and residents to federally operated public lands. The passport also provides discounts on other fees. Available at any National Park Service headquarters.
