Take a tour or enjoy world-class performances at this iconic structure in the heart of L.A.
Home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and its young, energetic Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by Frank Gehry, is both an incredible music venue and a masterpiece of architecture. As soon as it was completed, this dramatically sculptural building, with sweeping stainless steel panels unfurling like wings, was an instant downtown icon. It quickly became the preferred venue for special events, like American Idol, and films, including 2009's The Soloist. While the main concert hall isn't open for touring due to a jam-packed performance and rehearsal schedule, you are welcome to join a 1-hour guided tour (or take a self-guided audio tour) of some of the hall, including the lovely gardens. Tours are offered almost daily; check the website for details.
Inside tip: Extend your visit with a meal. Choose from Patina for sophisticated fare, or Concert Hall Café for relaxed dining in a spectacular setting.
