Take a Ride through Angeles National Forest

The San Gabriel Mountains surrounding Pasadena are etched with great mountain biking trails.

Two local favorites—Arroyo Seco Trail and Brown Mountain Trail, both in Angeles National Forest—start just outside the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Altadena. Arroyo Seco is a beginner to intermediate ride, though there are climbing opportunities and several fun creek crossings. A bit more advanced, Brown Mountain Trail is a looped ride, featuring good climbing (views), single track and other access to other challenging trails (try El Prieto).
