A trip through Santa Barbara’s many shopping districts isn’t just a great excuse to swipe and sign; it’s also the perfect way to find just about anything you’re looking for, and then some.
A quick stop into State Street’s La Arcada shopping center can soon turn into a lingering lunch on a brick patio. Head to Arlington Plaza for some high-end shopping before catching a live performance at the adjacent steepled theatre with the same name. La Cumbre Plaza on upper State Street has all of your favorites, from Pottery Barn to Louis Vuitton. And if you’re looking for something a little more artisan, head to the Funk Zone where you’re sure to find that one gift that they’ll always remember. From there, wander up State Street to the famed Paseo Nuevo shopping center where you can explore over 50 stores surrounded by bubbling fountains and lush greenery. A short walk off the beaten path, you’ll find the Presidio District—a locals’ favorite featuring a small group of specialty stores. Love a great boutique or unique consignment store? Head to SoCo (South of Cota Street), where you’re sure to find it. If a special Santa Barbara souvenir is on your list, the Waterfront and Stearns Wharf won’t disappoint. Finally, duck into Victoria Court off of lower State Street for some of the city’s best restaurants and independent shops.
