Oakland: The Next Culinary Mecca

Don't look now, but there's great food in Oakland.

The East Bay city is enjoying a culinary renaissance as celebrated executives chefs who made their names in San Francisco and Berkeley have recently opened establishments in up-and-coming neighborhoods such as Uptown, Jack London Square, Grand Avenue, Piedmont and Glenview. Some of the highlights: Bocanova ,  Camino , Adesso , Ozumo  and Bellanico . In addition to these restaurants, Oakland also is becoming a Mecca for artisan food makers, including Numi teas, Blue Bottle Coffee and Linden Street Brewers. Culinary travelers who love San Francisco will find many new favorites across the Bay in Oakland.
