With courses named Ocean North and Ocean South, you get a pretty good idea of what's awaiting you when you golf at Pelican Hill . Perched along the Newport Beach coast, the Tom Fazio-designed courses feature ocean views from nearly every hole. Some stretch alongside rocky coves and the South Course even has holes with 270-degree views of the Pacific. A gorgeous course may not make you a better golfer but it does offer some consolations. Because even if you never score a birdie or eagle, you can at least enjoy the seabirds—including, of course, pelicans.
