End with Channel Island views on a knockout coastal hike

The Baron Ranch Trail , a 6-miler (round-trip) on the Gaviota Coast, starts on a working avocado/cherimoya ranch, then climbs through sycamores, oaks, and chaparral to a 1,216-foot lookout with views of the Channel Islands in the distance. On a clear day, look for the sand dunes of San Miguel Island on the horizon. Open for hiking on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 8am to sunset.
