The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is wild with excitement over great summer offerings including Summer Camp and more chances than ever to meet cheetahs. This year the Safari Park will offer unique summer camps for youth ages 2 to 17. Each day, campers will have opportunities to meet animals up close. Younger children enjoy fun hands-on activities that open the world of animals to them; older campers feed rhinos and giraffes and create treats for other animals such as elephants and bonobos. Some of the Summer Camp highlights include art camps, keepers-for-a-day camps, animal research camps and a week-long overnight “Animal Care Boot Camp”. Go to www.sdzsafaripark.org and click on “special experiences” for more information.
Guests at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park will have opportunities to meet cheetahs every day this summer! Trainers will bring the cheetahs out on leash, accompanied by their companion dogs, at a time specified in the schedule guests pick up when they enter the Park. Guests can get pictures of the magnificent cats and ask questions of the trainers who work with them. The opportunity to meet the cheetahs is free with paid admission or Zoo membership and is part of the Animal Encounters program that occurs daily throughout the Safari Park. Cheetah encounter is included with admission. Art camps vary in price.
