Humboldt County is a welcome respite for both travelers and residents. Featuring 160 miles of unspoiled coastline, hundreds of thousand of acres of coastal redwood trees, six rivers, busy seaports, idyllic farming communities and amazing Victorian and Craftsman architecture.

One of the most photographed buildings in California, the Carson Mansion, is located in Eureka. The entire Victorian Village of Ferndale has been named a State Historical Landmark and Fortuna is known as “The Friendly” city. Humboldt State University is located in Arcata, known for its plaza and unique marsh and wildlife. McKinleyville serves as home of the Arcata-Eureka airport, the county’s only commercial airport. Northern Humboldt boasts the two coastal jewels of Trinidad and Orick, the gateway to Redwood National Park.

Your adventure will take you through charming hamlets, provide great shopping and our restaurants are an epicurean’s delight. Stop and see us at the northern most Californian Welcome Center.
