California Welcome Center in Alpine is conveniently located right off of Interstate 8 and open 7 days a week:
Mon. – Sat. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
West bound driving directions to Alpine CWC:
It is 136 miles and a 2 hr. 17 min. drive from Yuma AZ to Alpine, CA.
I-8 West from Arizona - Exit # 36 to East Willows Road. Viejas Outlet Center will be on your left. Turn in the first driveway by Anna’s Linens and park. Enter the Outlet Center and follow the path signs to the left to the Welcome Center, next to Dress Barn.
East bound driving directions to Alpine CWC:
It is 32 ½ miles and a 36 min. drive from San Diego, CA
I-8 East from San Diego to Alpine - Exit # 33 to Willows Road. Viejas Outlet Center will be on your right. Turn in the first driveway by Eddie Bauer and park between by Nike and The Gap. Enter the Outlet Center and follow the path signs to the right to the Welcome Center, next to Dress Barn.
South bound driving directions to Alpine CWC:
Take I-5, I-15 or 805 south to I-8 East.

Are there any Off-Highway Vehicle Areas in San Diego County?
CORRAL CANYON OHV AREA This 1800 acre area was set aside as an open area for off-road vehicle users. It was developed with the use of State of California Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Funds (Green Sticker Funds). Twelve miles of OHV trails are accessible from the Four Corners Trailhead. There are challenges for riders of all types of vehicles and operators of all skill levels. Access is by Interstate 8 to Buckman Springs Road. The California Visitor Center Alpine is the first California Welcome Center established on Native American land and most importantly, serves the needs of thousands of travelers who travel on Interstate 8 freeway annually. I-8 runs east/west through the southern portion of California from the Arizona border at Yuma, through Imperial County, San Diego County to the Pacific Ocean.
